Our third club event for a busy March for the Beagle Club of Queensland was the walk along the Shorncliffe foreshore. This is a great seaside stroll for the Beagles, with lots of sea air to sniff and plenty of beach to play on.
We advertised to gather at the front of the Shorncliffe jetty but, as we soon found out, the upgrade to the jetty was taking place, with major construction in front of where the pier used to be. So we assembled a little further west of the jetty, in a lovely grassed beachside area.
By the time we had commenced the walk, we had amassed another great number of 70 Beagles and a few honorary Beagles for the day.
The walk along Shorncliffe is very picturesque. Behind us are the cliffs with magnificent views from the top. In front is the scene looking out over Moreton Bay towards Redcliffe.
The Beagles trekked west for about 2kms before having the sand flats exposed for them to have a frolic with their friends and to find all the seashore smells they could find.
Not only did we lots of people bring along delicious morning teas for us all to share, we raised over $200 for our Pound Puppy project and four new memberships.
It was a huge morning for the Club and the members that turned up to enjoy a beautiful day out with the Beagle Club southeast Queensland pack. Thanks to everyone who helped out and came along to enjoy the morning.
